Hublot Replica Watches

Hublot (officially known as MDM Geneve) is the result of one man’s vision and many, many years of patience and perseverance. Born into an Italian family with a long history of watch making Carlo Crocco was the man designated to become the leader of Binda , a company established in 1906 by his grandfather which controls the largest watch distribution network in Italy.

As much as he loved the family business Crocco had a concept of his own that was not compatible with those of Binda. After much agonizing he finally announced his intention to the family who were shocked and somewhat dismayed by this development. None the less Crocco was determined and not only left Binda but moved to Switzerland to begin his own venture.

Settling in the Nyon region of western Switzerland he set about making his dream a reality. His goal was to create a watch that embodied pure lines and could be worn in formal and informal settings. Further he wanted the watch to merge Italian styling with Swiss craftsmanship while eschewing all superfluous design elements.

Using his own funds and borrowing from banks Crocco undertook a four year journey that would finally lead to the creation of his dream. The watch was called the “Hublot”, which is French for porthole. The piece was so named for the twelve screws embedded in the bezel which marked the hour positions. The most dramatic design element however was the rubber strap.

The idea for the strap came to Crocco while in flight when he found himself coloring in the strap of one of his designs with a black felt tipped pen. Creating the strap however was no easy feat and involved extensive research and upwards of a million dollars to finally achieve the perfect blend of form and function.

Finally the watch was presented at the Basel watch fair in 1980. Day one of the fair saw Crocco questioning his dream as not one person came to the booth to view his creation. Day two and three however saw this change rapidly and the Hublot became the hit of the fair.

Since that time a well planned marketing strategy combined with an infinite belief in the value of the product have propelled Hublot to the very top of the luxury watch market. Today with sales of up to 22 million annually the dream has been recognized and Hublot is known a one of the premier watches of the world.

Hublot Replica Watches - A Brief History

Hublot watches are the realization of a dream held by one Carlo Crocco. Born into a family of watch makers Crocco grew up surrounded by the craft and it was only natural that he would follow in the same path. The difference is however that he perceived a watch that would rise above the norm by encompassing both being both sporty and elegant.

By 1977 he had developed his first watch and by 1980 he had established his first company MDM Geneve. Using his dream of pure lines and eschewing what he considered superfluous design elements he proceeded to create a model that could be worn in both formal and informal settings. Modeled after a porthole (with Hublot meaning porthole in French) he created a watch that had twelve screws in the bezel where the hour markers leaving the face with a minimal look that was both the elegant and classic. He then after much consideration and development added a rubber strap.

The watch world was doubtful at best when he presented his creation at the Basel Watch Fair in 1980 however it soon developed many fans and went on to become the sensation of the year. The Hublot won the hearts of many including members of several royal families and it was only a few years until Hublot watches became an accepted member of the prestige watch community.

Hublot has gone on since that time to release several models all of them with the unmistakable Hublot look. Some of the better known collections are the Classic and the Sport. In each collection Crocco has remained true to his ideal retaining the elegance and style for which he has become known.

More recently many other manufacturers have followed his lead with the rubber strap and today many sport watches feature them.

Hublot is seen today on the wrists of many well known personalities including Queen Latifa, Jamie Fox and Celine Dion as well as in many films such as “If Only” and “Shadow of Fear”

While the current trends in the watch industry is towards large conglomerates such as Richemont and The Swatch Group, Hublot remains a family firm dedicated to elegance and excellence.
